Will my sins keep me from being set free?
If we had to be perfect to receive from God, guess what?
NO ONE WOULD WALK IN ANY OF HIS BLESSINGS!

Romans 3:23 "ALL have sinned and are not good enough to share God’s divine greatness. 24 They are made right with God by His grace. This is a free gift. They are made right with God by being made free from sin through Jesus Christ."  (ERV)

In comparison to God, let's face it, we don't measure up.  We fall far short!
Here's some good news for you though...

God is not into "treating people in a way that they deserve."
He is into treating people "in a way people should be treated - graciously."

He has never been into treating people in a way that they deserve because God is merciful!  His mercy is an expression of His love towards us -

Lamentations 3:22 We are still alive because
the Lord’s faithful love never ends.
23 Every morning He shows it in new ways!
You are so very true and loyal!
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my God,
   and I trust Him.”

Some people think that God is going to get them for this, that or the other.  Truth be known, if God was going to get you for anything wrong that you have ever done or forgotten to do - we ALL would have been gotten long, long ago!

Let's look at a few actual accounts in the Ministry of Jesus to see whether or not your sin can or will keep you from receiving from God. Remember, Jesus Himself said, "If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father." (John 14:9)

John 5:1-19 .....Jesus went to Jerusalem.  In Jerusalem, near the Sheep Gate, there is a wide water hole (or pool). The Jews called this water hole Bethesda. It had five places with roofs for people to stand under. Many sick people were lying on these places. Some of them were blind. Some were lame. Some were very thin and stiff so that they could not move by themselves. All of them were waiting for the water to move. An angel came down into the water at a certain time and made it move. The first person who stepped into the water when it moved was healed of any sickness that he had. (This is what they believed, so this is what they received) A man was there who had been sick for thirty eight years. Jesus saw the man lying there. He knew that he had been sick for a long time. He said to him, `Do you want to be healed?' (some people get very comfortable with their disability and choose not to be made well for various reasons) The sick man said to him, `Sir, I have no man to put me into the water when it moves. While I am trying to get in, some other person comes and gets in before me.' (This man was asking for a man and God sent him the best that he had at the time - Jesus came to be his man!) Jesus said, `Get up. Take up your bed and walk!' The man was healed right away. He took up his bed and walked. This happened on the Sabbath day.  (the man acted on the words of the Son of God and that action produced the results that he was looking for - faith is released into your situation by acting on God's Word from your innermost being.  The result of such action will be freedom!) So the leaders of the Jews talked to the man who was healed. They said, `It is the Sabbath day. It is not right for you to carry your bed.'
But he answered them, `The man who healed me said to me, "Take up your bed and walk." '
They asked him, `Who is the man who told you to take up your bed and walk?'
The man who was healed said, `I do not know who he is.' Many people were at the place and Jesus had gone away(He gave the man only what he sort - healing and left)
After that, Jesus saw the man in the temple. He said to him, `See, you are healed. Do no more wrong things. If you do, something worse may happen to you.'  (even though it is clear that this man's situation was a direct result of his own sins, GOD HEALED HIM anyway! He was always willing to heal mankind regardless of their sins).  The man went away and told the leaders of the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him. The Jewish leaders made trouble for Jesus because he did this on the Sabbath day (the man's actions got Jesus into deeper trouble with the religious authorities, but that still didn't stop the Hand of God from freeing him). But Jesus answered them, `My Father is still working and I am working also.' This was why the leaders of the Jews tried much more to kill Jesus. He had broken the law of the Sabbath day. And also he called God his Father. In that way, he was making himself equal with God. Jesus said to them, `l tell you the truth. The Son cannot do anything alone. He sees what his Father is doing and he does the same. (Worldwide Eng. Ed)

You see, God in human flesh, in the person of Jesus Christ was carrying out OUR HEAVENLY FATHER'S DESIRE and that is TO TREAT PEOPLE THE WAY THAT THEY SHOULD BE TREATED - GRACIOUSLY and NOT IN A WAY THAT THEY DESERVE.  TO LEAVE YOUR CHILD IN THE MIDST OF TROUBLE WHEN IT IS WITHIN YOUR ABILITY TO DELIVER HIM/HER FROM IT - WOULD BE WRONG.  God can do no wrong!  If He did, He wouldn't be God.

Are all disabilities/infirmities the result of our own wrongdoings?

John 9 1-5  "Walking down the street, Jesus saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked, “Rabbi, who sinned: this man or his parents, causing him to be born blind?”
Jesus said, “You’re asking the wrong question. You’re looking for someone to blame. There is no such cause-effect here. Look instead for what God can do.  (MSG)

Imperfections quite often are the result of just living in an imperfect world and not being equipped with the necessary tools and ability to change something.  Either way, God wants to deliver you, if you'll let Him!

Luke 5:17 One day as he (Jesus) was teaching, Pharisees and religion teachers were sitting around. (to trick or trap Jesus) They had come from nearly every village in Galilee and Judea, even as far away as Jerusalem, to be there. The healing power of God was on him.   (God would have even healed these trouble makers had they been receptive)
18-20 Some men arrived carrying a paraplegic on a stretcher. They were looking for a way to get into the house and set him before Jesus. When they couldn’t find a way in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof, removed some tiles, and let him down in the middle of everyone, right in front of Jesus. Impressed by their bold belief (their faith), he said, “Friend, I forgive your sins.”  (notice that Jesus called this sinner "His friend" and then said what was music to his ears : YOUR FORGIVEN!)
21 That set the religion scholars and Pharisees buzzing. “Who does he think he is? That’s blasphemous talk! God and only God can forgive sins.”
22-26 Jesus knew exactly what they were thinking and said, “Why all this gossipy whispering? Which is simpler: to say ‘I forgive your sins,’ or to say ‘Get up and start walking’? Well, just so it’s clear that I’m the Son of Man and authorized to do either, or both. . . .” He now spoke directly to the paraplegic: “Get up. Take your bedroll and go home.” Without a moment’s hesitation, he did it—got up, took his blanket, and left for home, giving glory to God all the way. (the man acted on what Jesus said to him and healing was the result - he had no problem receiving once he knew he was forgiven) The people rubbed their eyes, incredulous—and then also gave glory to God. Awestruck, they said, “We’ve never seen anything like that!” (MSG)

The very same power that sets you free spiritually and makes you a child of God is the very same power that is always present to set you free physically.
Don't continue to let your sin keep you from being healed! Hear God's Voice whispering to you right now:  Child, I forgive you!! Be free!!

Matthew 15:29-31 "After Jesus returned, he walked along Lake Galilee and then climbed a mountain and took his place, ready to receive visitors. They came, tons of them, bringing along the paraplegic, the blind, the maimed, the mute—all sorts of people in need—and more or less threw them down at Jesus’ feet to see what he would do with them. He healed them. When the people saw the mutes speaking, the maimed healthy, the paraplegics walking around, the blind looking around, they were astonished and let everyone know that God was blazingly alive among them.

This same God is still very much alive today and willing to heal you!
Why?  Because He loves you!   He gets absolutely no pleasure from your pain.  What pleasure do you get from seeing your children suffer?
