Being sick is not a disgrace. It doesn't mean that you don't love God. It simply means, that you haven't developed the tools needed to combat Satan yet. Most Christians have studied The Word and know that, "we are the healed." We get into trouble when we start using our heads instead of our hearts. Our heart is where the Holy Spirit resides. He's our Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Srengthener and Standby. The Holy Spirit teaches us what is needed to engage in spiritual warfare against sickness, disease and death. Remember, Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy us, but Jesus said, "I came that you might have and enjoy life, and have it to the full (John 10:10). Jesus is saying that, in Him, we can really live, not just merely exist. Do you enjoy your life when your sick? Do you feel like smiling when you've just been told that you have only six months left to live? No, of course not. To enjoy life is to be healthy. We're guaranteed 120 years of life to enjoy on this planet. We've been given a life full of prosperity in every realm that there is: spirit, soul, PHYSICAL, financial and social. Can you live a full life in bed crippled from arthritis? Are you happy when your children are sick? No, well neither is God. We are His children and He takes no pleasure in seeing us sick either.
The Word of God says in 1 Peter 2:23:
Jesus used His servant body to carry our sins to the Cross
so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His
wounds became your healing." (Message Bible)
We were healed two thousand years ago when Jesus (bearing our sins) was nailed to the cross. Every time He was whipped it was for our sicknesses. He suffered all torment knowing it would free us from Satan's hold. We must get the realization of this scene. The only way you will receive your healing is to understand what went on two thousand years ago on Calvary. This isn't a fairy tale. The cross scene really happened. Don't wait until your on your deathbed to decide to believe what God did for you. Right now, search your soul. Let the Holy Spirit bring up to your remembrance what God did for you at the cross. Go to the Gospel of John and read about the love that Father God has for you. Spend some quality time with Him. The key to your success in any realm, not only healing, is getting closer to this Being who gave everything up for you. He is not only your "Father" but your Daddy/Pappa. He created you and knows all about your body. No doctor on earth can say that. The "Great Physician" is always there for you and He makes house calls. Turn to Him not only when your sick, but everyday. Spend time in prayer around the Word of God so that your relationship with Him can grow. Healing is just one of the many blessings that are yours in Jesus.
But remember, we don't go after God for what He has for us; we go after Him because He first loved us.
