When my husband and I decided that we wanted a child we were able to become pregnant right away. We knew that God would help us to do this!! I remember asking the Lord for a child in July. It was that month that my husband agreed that he was ready to start a family. We started trying right away. According to Psalm 37:4, "God will give you the desires of your heart." We had no problem becoming pregnant. God promises in Psalm l28:3 that, "Your wife will be like a fruitful vine." By believing these promises we were able to conceive right away.
Now, once pregnant, I was determined not to get morning sickness. I knew what Jesus had done for me at the cross. According to Isaiah 53:4, "He has borne our griefs, sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses, so, I knew that there was no reason for me to be sick. I found God's promises of healing in the Bible and fought off the nausea, headaches, heartburn, dizziness, emotional roller coasters and other symptoms associated with early pregnancy. Some symptoms would try to get to me, but, I would just study God's promises, demand my body to shape up, and talk positive. I was able to beat it all with God's help. I had no vomiting or other discomforts. I felt great for my entire pregnancy!
I faced an obstacle in my ninth month that only the Lord could have helped me through. In my 35th week of pregnancy I began showing signs of pre-eclampsia. Associated with this condition is excessive swelling and high blood pressure. They put me on bedrest. I was concerned. I knew that God could help me, but, I wasn't sure where to look in the Bible. Then this scripture was revealed to me from the Gospel of John l9:34, " ...but one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out." Focusing on this scripture healed me. I knew that if the water flowed out of Jesus, then the fluid would also flow out of me! Overnight I lost 7 pounds. I wasn't swollen anymore! My blood pressure also went down quite a bit. I knew that God would somehow take care of that situation, and He did.
I thank God for what He did for me during my entire pregnancy. We are redeemed from the curse! You can also have a blessed and wonderful pregnancy if you lean on Him.
